NortonLifeLock DAM
A migration story, with twists
DAM Platform: Brandworkz
The NortonLifeLock DAM is the child of several parents. It is the combination of two DAMs, one from Symantec, one from LifeLock, that were migrated and united together. And it is the result first of an acquisition of one company by another, then a merge of brand identity, and finally a complete company spinoff from the dissolution of the parent company, with its ensuing brand evolution. The NortonLifeLock DAM has been a centralized brand, compliance, and marketing resource throughout these shifting organizational events.
The Migration
Ann wore two familiar hats: one as the Symantec DAM librarian—in command of the assets and metadata to be migrated; and second as a DAM specialist to scope, define, plan, and collaborate with the customer and the DAM provider, Brandworkz, to a successful launch. And that migration and launch went smoothly. The key to that success was three top-tier Project Managers, with deep institutional knowledge of the two companies, of DAM, and of the Brandworkz DAM platform. It was a stellar team that coordinates to this day.
Ann continues as the Managing Librarian. For this relatively young site, she performs daily administration—greets, seats, and trains new users. Monitors and fine-tunes the metadata and reporting that is so central to search success and administrative management. And looks to the longer view goals of site improvements, service improvements, and innovations in the DAM industry that will improve the customer experience going forward. As the inventory—and history—grows, archiving, branding, and compliance governance definitions become more clear.
“ Ann is a Digital Asset Management guru. She brought years of experience working with other DAM platforms to the new NortonLifeLock DAM & Brand Management initiative. Her experience working with clients on multiple DAMs gives her unique insight into the various ways companies manage their assets across different platforms, which resulted in innovative ideas for leveraging the tools in front of her. She's a critical and trusted advisor to the entire process.”
